Side pods, also called side flares, extend the sides of a campervan around the sleeping area. They create additional internal width so you can design a bed across the van rather than along its length.

This can free up floor space for a kitchen, seating or washroom while retaining storage beneath the bed.

We offer separate MWB and LWB pairs for the 2017-onwards VW Crafter and MAN TGE. Choose the version that matches your vehicle’s body length.

These are vehicle-specific products. Do not order them for an earlier Crafter, Mercedes Sprinter or another van model without confirmed compatibility.

No. Our MWB listing specifies right-hand-drive vehicles with a sliding side door and excludes left-hand-drive vehicles.

Send us your registration number, body length and photos of both sides before ordering if your van is an import or has an unusual door layout.

The LWB listing specifies vehicles without a factory mid-side window. If glazing already occupies the fitting area, have us confirm suitability before ordering.

Both listings exclude factory 270-degree rear doors unless converted to 180-degree hinges. This prevents the rear doors opening back into the pods.

Use the finished internal distance between the lined pods at your planned mattress height. Insulation, lining, window frames and trim can reduce the usable sleeping length.

Tell us your height, planned bed position and chosen pod version before finalising the layout. Confirm the finished dimensions before ordering a mattress or cutting the bed platform.

Both the MWB and LWB listings are supplied as a pair of GRP fibreglass pods, with polyurethane bonding adhesive and installation guidance.

The bed platform, mattress, interior insulation and lining are separate parts of your conversion.

Yes. Both listings offer an opening-window option with blinds. Select this option if you want windows included.

The alternative options differ: the MWB listing offers blank pods, while the LWB selector includes a window-recess option without windows. A window recess does not mean glazing is supplied.

The pods are made in the UK from GRP fibreglass. The standard finish is black gel coat requiring preparation and paint; colour coding is available as an option.

Confirm your paint code when choosing colour coding. On an older vehicle, discuss the existing paint condition before expecting an exact visual match.

Yes. Installation involves cutting body-panel openings and bonding the pods into place. Both product listings require support beams to replace the factory beam removed during fitting.

Confirm the required support framework before starting. This is a permanent body modification suited to an experienced installer, with careful attention to reinforcement, bonding and sealing.

Possibly, but the installer needs access to the body panels and reinforcement around the fitting area. Existing furniture, wiring, insulation and wall lining may need to be removed and reworked.

Send us interior and exterior photos before ordering. It is usually easier to plan the pods before the bed and wall lining are finished.

The GRP shell needs to be incorporated into your conversion’s insulation and interior finish. Plan this before setting the final bed dimensions.

Allow room for insulation and trim while keeping window mechanisms accessible. Continue to provide ventilation around the sleeping area to manage moisture.
